F.W. SYMMES LIBRARY
The F.W. Symmes Library and Media Center at UCG is essentially a virtual library. It provides online catalogs and databases, as well as computers and software. The library is open to all students, faculty, and staff.
Workstations and group study rooms are available during library hours.
- Monday - Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
- Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- Sunday 1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
We offer electronic databases and access to all participating university libraries.
The library has 36 workstations loaded with the following software:
- MS Office 2007 Professional (Access, Excel, InfoPath, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word)
- Acrobat Reader
- Internet Explorer
- Mozilla Firefox
- Real Player
- Win DVD
Some computers have APA Style Template installed. All computers have sound cards for students to retrieve and listen to audio files. Headsets are also available.
All computers are connected to printers. There are 2 black and white laser jet printers. Printing costs $0.05 per page in the library. There is also one scanner and one CD writer for students and faculty.
