An institution which purchased and installed distance education
equipment (hereafter called the “priority institution”) will
have priority class scheduling privileges of that equipment. The following
stipulation will apply: “Priority institution” must supply
the UCG with their scheduled classes 12 weeks in advance of any academic
semester. After
that date, the conditions in # II apply.
A master schedule will be maintained
at the UCG. All requests should come in writing to Jay Dugaw 864.250.1111,
Fax 864.250.8900, or E-mail: jdugaw@clemson.edu,
He will notify the priority institution of requests for use.
Other consortium members can use the rooms and distance education
equipment when not scheduled by the “priority institution.”
The
following stipulations will apply:
1. Requests will be considered on
a first come-first served basis. However, courses in direct support of
a UCG degree program will receive priority. All course requests should
be submitted 12 weeks before any academic semester. Each institution
will then be notified of room availability.
2. Arrangements for any line
charges, equipment, or technical support fees incurred by the requesting
institution must be clarified in writing with the “priority institution.”
All institutions should agree on an hourly fee for proctors. Then each institution
should submit their requests to Martha White at 864.250.8053 (telephone),
864.250.8689 (Fax), E-Mail: martha.white@gvltec.edu.
Jay Dugaw, Evening Program Coordinator, can distribute and collect tests.
He cannot remain in a class during a testing period due to ongoing duties
in the building.
Institutions offering distance education are responsible for advising their
faculty of the technology requirements and abilities of the Center. Instructional
support is the responsibility of the offering institution. The institutional
development staff on each campus should be available to faculty as needed.
It will be the responsibility of the home institution to schedule time with
the D.E. Technician at the University Center to familiarize faculty with
the UCG facility including its capabilities and/or limitations. Institutions
should be responsible for assuring that their equipment is operable and compatible
for transmission and reception.
Requests may be made by E-mail: bdifili@clemson.edu,
phone 864.250.1111, or Fax 864.250.8900.
