Dear Community Leader,

As always, we appreciate your ongoing support of the University Center of Greenville (UCG). In turn, we'd like to share with you our good news as well.

Dr. Lienne F. Medford, Associate Professor of Teacher Education and Master of Arts in Teaching Coordinator for Clemson University at the University Center of Greenville, will be the featured speaker at the spring 2010 Pennsylvania Deans of Education Forum. The state of Pennsylvania is asking its fifty schools of education to reevaluate their teacher education programs and to recruit more career changers into public education. The Clemson Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in middle grades education at UCG has been chosen as the model for this initiative. This is great recognition of this program's success. At its fall board meeting, the Carolinas Virtual World Consortium (CVWC) Board of Directors voted to extend membership to the University Center of Greenville. The CVWC is a group of universities, school districts, and corporate partners dedicated to investigating 3-dimensional virtual worlds to enhance teaching, training, and learning at all educational levels. Dear Community Leader,

As always, we appreciate your ongoing support of the University Center of Greenville (UCG) during times of need. In turn, we'd like to share with you our good news as well.

We are well into a successfull Fall semester, with programs and registrations continuing our rising trend. It seems every day our parking lot gets a little more full - an easy measure of the growing awareness for the need for higher education.

UCG is also developing partnerships in an exciting new technology focus which will enhance its support of faculty development and research into mediated instruction strategies.

We welcome your inquiries, participation and support as we launch these changes throughout the Fall.

Lastly, I invite you to stop by UCG and see what is going on. Chat with a passing student or faculty member. At UCG, we are building success stories every day, one individual at a time.

Sincerely,

Dr. Fred Baus
